Making Music Academic.

Our Mission

The USC Journal of Music Industry provides an interdisciplinary analysis of the music business by shedding light on contemporary topics, perspectives, and innovations. Through our multimedia platform, we elevate diverse voices to create academic discourse in the music industry.

Our Creators

The writers and creators featured on our platform are not limited to the Music Industry program or even Thornton, but include voices from all disciplines and backgrounds. We encourage students, professors, and industry professionals from all backgrounds, particularly those that are historically underrepresented, to take the mic.

Our Content

We are working to create a space for academically sound content that is novel and currently underdiscussed in the music industry. Our peer-review process is unique and premier, including multiple rounds of voluntary edits from current students, professors, and industry professionals.
